India honoured to be a development partner of Seychelles, says Modi India’s belief in a human-centric approach to development cooperation is reflected in the 10 high impact community development projects inaugurated on Thursday to bring positive change in the lives of communities spread across Seychelles, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said.

New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Wednesday (April 7) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in a high-level virtual event with the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan on April 8.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate a range of Indian projects in Seychelles, news agency ANI reported.
The event will feature a joint e-inauguration of new Magistrates’ Court Building in Seychelles, handing over of fast patrol vessels to Seychelles Coast Guard, handing over of a 1 MW Solar Power Plant and inauguration of 10 high impact community development projects.

New Delhi [India], April 7 (ANI): India and Seychelles will hold a high-level virtual meet on Thursday and the virtual event will be the first interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with President Wavel Ramkalawan.
President Wavel Ramkalawan came to power after a landmark victory in October 2020 elections in Seychelles. His party Linyon Democratic Seselwa has a two-thirds majority in the Seychelles national assembly.
President Ramkalawan is of Indian origin. He has his ancestral roots in Gopalganj district of Bihar. He visited India in January 2018 as a part of the PIO Parliamentarian s Conference and had also visited his native village Parsauni .
