20% of unemployed in Algarve are from Albufeira
20% of the unemployed registered in the Algarve are from the municipality of Albufeira, and the majority of them are women.
These were among the revelations made last Friday by Madalena Feu, a regional IEFP job centre delegate, at the Albufeira Summit, in a panel dedicated to employment and entrepreneurship.
She said that, in February, of the 33,459 unemployed people registered in the Algarve, 6658 were from Albufeira.

Unemployment in the Algarve grew significantly in 2020, but did not reach the highs of 2013. Provisional data from December 2020 shared in an interview with Sul Informação by Madalena Feu, Algarve delegate for the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP), showed last month closed with around 31,000 people unemployed in the Algarve.
