Unemployment in the Algarve grew significantly in 2020, but did not reach the highs of 2013. Provisional data from December 2020 shared in an interview with Sul Informação by Madalena Feu, Algarve delegate for the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP), showed last month closed with around 31,000 people unemployed in the Algarve. By municipality, Albufeira was most affected by unemployment in 2020, follwed by Loulé and Portimão.
