Pakistan Air Force to build new airbase in Balochistan This will be the PAF s second air base in the conflict-torn and underdeveloped region of Balochistan New Delhi: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plans to build a new air base in Balochistan, stepping up the militarisation of the restive province. The PAF has also identified a piece of land for the air base in Nasirabad district of Balochistan. According to a press release, PAF officials inspected the site along with the district administration on Sunday. The Dawn newspaper quoted Nasirabad Deputy Commissioner Azhar Shezad that a delegation of the PAF proposed a tract of land to be acquired for establishing the air base.

SLNS Gajabahu takes part in AMAN-2021 exercise in Pakistan

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): Representing Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Gajabahu took part in the 7th edition of AMAN series hosted by Pakistan this year, Sri Lanka Navy said. The multi-national maritime exercise AMAN-2021 hosted by Pakistan Navy under the theme ‘Together for Peace’ formally commenced at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi, Pakistan on 12th February 2021. Having seen the customary farewell at the home port on 05th February 2021, SLNS Gajabahu left Colombo for Karachi in Pakistan, to attend AMAN-2021. AMAN-2021 was held from 12th to 16th February 2021, with the participation of as many as 45 countries from across the world.

Navies from 45 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Russia, Turkey, and other Arab and African countries are participating in the week-long Aman-21 exercise. Notably, since 2007, the exercise has taken place every two years. In the sense of military tensions between China and the US in regions such as the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, it is unusual for the Chinese and US navies to engage in multilateral exercises. Moreover, it is also a rare opportunity for Russia to join NATO countries in an exercise.
