Conditions north into marin county are improving, but experts tell us it will get worse before it gets better. Getting money to 15 million to the San Mateo County Sheriffs Office. 11 million to the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office and 8 million to the San Jose Police department. Now, one city noticeably absent from the list of grant recipients is oakland. State Officials Say oakland was disqualify fillled because the city missed the deadline. A city spokesperson says the Police Department had its application materials ready. But the Citys Department of economic and Workforce Development did not submit the application on time. The city administrator called this outcome unacceptable in San Franciscos Mission district, the crackdown on illegal street vending continues to be a challenge there for a year. The department of public works has been in the area, stepping up patrols and confiscations. But are those efforts actually working .
