Its about the same number in contra costa county. And more than 12,000 customers in Alameda County could lose power. Napa county is also on the list for these blackouts with around 11,000 customers. The Weather Service is warning that travel could be in their words difficult to impossible. Theyre working to clear the roads this morning. Chains are required here and on highway 50 except on vehicles with fourwheel drive and snow tires. There could be two feet or more on higher mountain peaks. Mud creek on highway 1 in the big sur area will be closed due to concerns about mudslides in this weekends storm. It closed a few minutes ago, 9 00 was the time it was scheduled to close. The slide closed last night at 5 00. The stretch of roadway is in the southern part of monterey county. Both sides where seen slides in the past.
