A small Wexford contingent made their way to Athlone on Saturday for the Leinster Senior, Under-20 and Masters indoor championships. Enniscorthy Athletics Club had by far the biggest representation.
Eights projects from across seven Co Wexford secondary schools have qualified for the Dublin City Finals of the Junk Kouture competition 2024 which will be held at the 3 Arena in Dublin on Sunday, May 5.
Over two thousand students from 24 secondary schools across Co Wexford will take part in a road safety initiative specifically designed to educate teenagers in the coming weeks. The Just 1 Life programme, which is run by the Wexford Rotary club in partnership with Wexford County Council (WCC), is aimed at increasing road safety awareness among young people and reducing road traffic deaths.
Students from Wexford are leading the way when it comes to make Ireland a safe and welcoming place for all. This was evidenced at a ceremony in the National Opera House which saw two of Wexford town’s secondary schools receive the prestigious School of Sanctuary for their work in creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive culture for all students.
Following last year’s sell-out, the Christmas Gala returns to St. Iberius Church on Wednesday, December 20 at 7 p.m. This year’s event will feature two of Ireland’s biggest operatic stars as local talent Sinéad Campbell-Wallace and Gavan Ring perform operatic duets along with all the Christmas classics and festive favourites.
