With few buyers and prices plummeting, some prefer to leave the crops unplucked in farms
Flower cultivation had been giving an assured monthly income to growers, but since lockdown/curfew has been imposed more than a month ago in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, everything has not been rosy with the business.
The sale of fresh flowers is traditionally an afternoon/evening affair, but the 12 noon to 6 a.m. curfew has left a small window for business when only small quantities are being bought, mainly for puja.
Amid a spike in coronavirus cases, authorities in Bhopal on Sunday (April 25) extended Janata corona curfew in the state capital. Collector Abhinash Lavaniya today issued an official notification in this regard, announcing an extension in the Janata curfew. It is to be noted that a week-long 'corona curfew' was first imposed in Bhopal city from 9 pm on April 12 to curb the rising cases of COVID-19. It was further extended for another week from April 19 to April 26.

These regions were hit with the biggest surges in the new variant of the virus, as the country has now recorded at least 67,000 deaths and 2.7 million cases.
However, the French Government has said it will not rule out stricter measures if the Covid situation worsens in the European country.
Research carried out in France claimed curfews could be more effective than full lockdowns to help tackle the virus among older people.
On October 17 last year, 16 of France s regions were put under curfew from 9pm to 6am.

Insurers generally don’t honour a claim if you were doing anything illegal at the time of the so-called claimable event such as driving over the legal alcohol limit or without a valid licence.
So what about if you have an accident between 9pm and 6am, when you shouldn’t be on the road at all, thanks to the latest Disaster Management Act curfew?
No existing policy would include any mention of a government curfew, at least not one taken out before March this year, so how would such a claim be treated?
