Its still going to be breezy but not as windy as this morning, and were looking at temperatures today that will be a little bit warmer than normal but fairly mild with palo alto reaching 75. 76 in oakland. And in San Francisco a high of 73 degrees. Well talk about some of the highest wind gust weve measured and whats ahead in the forecast in a few minutes. Mike, how is it looking for the morning commute . I want to show our friends behind me the light yellow highlighting that is not fog. Thats where the road weather index is going to be gusty for drivers in many places. You head up the hills throughout san jose, the south bay, looking to the north bay as well with the same highlighting. The antioch bridge and the benicia bridge, a concern but not a major problem for drivers. Thank you, mike. We are continuing our Team Coverage on the biggest wind event to hit the bay area so far. If you look at your screen all of those little yellow areas are folks who are without power this morning. 2
You sound like oprah. Well be celebrating in cooler weather, too, what were expecting today, a calming wind as we go into the next couple of hours and throughout this afternoon as our temperatures continue to drop. But, unfortunately, there is another high wind event well be watching by sunday into early next week as our temperatures today reach mostly into the 70s across the bay area. Well talk about this coming up. Mike, how is it looking for the morning drive . Kari, its looking like friday. Im not going to sing it like marcus because what i do is not called singing. Over to the bay bridge where your traffic is humming along through the area with no metering lights. A little brake tapping earlier. It started itself out. Green sensors and the approach. Over to the maze and the upper east shore freeway. The north bay without any problems. The south bay and hayward, 880 south showing slowing just building a bit. Thats about it. Back to you. All right, thanks, mike. Pg e this morning is
A very good morning to you. Thanks so much for joining us this monday morning. Im laura garcia. We went on an extra 30 minutes early this morning at 4 00 a. M. Just because of this red flag warning. Im kris sanchez in for marcus washington. We are seeing some vegetation fires pop up overnight. Kari hall is watching those winds. And the high fire danger will continue throughout this morning as weve seen the high wind gusts especially in our upper elevations and the wind advisory will expire at 11 00 but the rest of the day will be breezy as we see the winds gusting for even our valleys up to 50 miles an hour. This red flag warning will continue for today. Up until tomorrow morning so were still looking at breezy winds and some very dry air. Well continue to monitor that and talk about whats ahead in our forecast coming up. Mike, how is it looking driving to work this morning . Kari, your system and my system are map share data as we look at the maps for traffic data, the speed looks fin
To welcome customers back so soon. Good evening and thanks for joining us at everybody im Vicki Liviakis and im grant lotus not as bad as it was last night, but this Atmospheric River continues to pass through parts of the bay area tonight. Prompting several weather alerts in our region. The rain is falling in Santa Cruz County tonight streets there as you can see. Pretty slick and water is standing in some areas of Boulder Creek. Flood advisory has expired within just the past hour. But a Flash Flood Watch is in effect that curation orders and warnings remain in place near the burn zones in san mateo and santa cruz counties see her on the map the areas shaded in yellow are under evacuation warnings. The areas in red have evacuation orders in place. Is rain and snow knocked out power for more than half a million pg e customers in northern california. Nearly 75 of those customers have their power back on right now, but 16,000 customers in the bay area. Theyre still in the dark tonight a
Kari, you have had sky ranger to look out for and track downed power lines. It looks like its over off the shoulder there right around high street, coming up in through the Oakland Hills where highway 13 got a wind advisory from chp. Well watch for the traffic moving smoothly. At least part of a tree down inside this freeway. Outside the bay bridge toll plaza in the east bay and the oakland area metering lights turned on earlier than necessary because of the volume. I think theyre keeping folks on the shoreline to keep volume on the span lighter as we look at the map. That would make things easier to handle if there are problems. High wind advisory reported for many of the spans there and this traffic incident is the only problem because of the crash over into sunol and west 84, around the ge plant and that may be clearing lanes right now. Back over to you, kris. This morning about 225,000 pg e customers are without power across northern california. Look at the map. The north bay and e
