On this day of remembrance, bay area residents found the coronavirus made changes in tradition but it wont stop it even if it means memorializing in masks. Being here and seeing all these veterans that have lost their life for our country to keep us safe, for our freedom. Its heartwarming and touching and sad at the same time. An additional honor lifted off this memorial day in Mountain View. The California Air National Guard 100 and 29 rescue wing took off to help healthcare providers, First Responders and other essential workers. We are honored to do this to show the militarys appreciation for people on the front lines. Several planes and helicopters flew over 50 locations in the south bay including Valley Medical Center in san jose. Im honored and thankful and sorry this had to happen that the occasion is here for this to happen, but im grateful for the acknowledgment for myself and my call workers. Thankfully firefighters were able to save it. That fouralarm fire destroyed a warehouse at pier 45. That housed the ss Jeremiah Obrien historical boating groups and crabbers. Nearly 150 firefighters responded to the scene and abc7 News Reporter Cornell Barnard is at pier 45 live for us and has the latest developments. Cornell was are you seeing and hearing . Reporter hey, liz, we got an update from the Fire Department. They say the fire is close t co where as you said 150 firefighters have been battling this blaze since about 4 15 this morning. The fire broke out in the rear of the pier 45 warehouse where Fishing Companies, the blue and gold fleet and the ss Jeremiah Obrien have offices. Flames shooting into the morning sky. Smoke could be seen for up to 15 miles away. Luckily, no injuries have been reported. A San Francisco Fire Department fireboat was able to save the historic world war ii liberty ship Jeremiah Obrien from ruin and told some peeling paint was the only casualty there.

Dramatic increase in the number of cases. We are still watching big questions, how fast is that number continue to go down . First, does that number continue to go down . That would be a nightmare if it picks up. How fast does it come down and how low does it go . Before we started this, you had a couple hundred cases. When do we get back to a couple hundred new cases going in . The overall hospitalization rate is down, the number of intubations is down. Even the number of new covid cases is down. Still not good, still 1000 new cases yesterday, to put it in focus. That would normally be terrible news, it is only not terrible news compared to where we were. This is just terrible news. 367 deaths. Which is horrific and there is no relative context to death. Death is death. 367 people passed, 367 families.
