This is the warm air intrusion, the pink over charles and prince georges counties the milder air working its way in, especially into the d. C. Metro area, within the capital beltway, the transition from snow to sleet. Even though the snow is stopping for some of us it is still falling heavy in frederick and loudoun counties. The roads are completely snowcovered and its a very complex and dynamic weather system, which is one of the reason that the snows squall totals exceeded expectations. Hes been surveying the conditions on the roads all day. Horace . Alison this snow mound, you can see how big it is here behind me the snow thats been pushed off the roads as an indication of just how hard the plows have been working today. If you look over here at the roads, you can see theyre clear and all the snow for the most part has been pushed off to the side and the streets looking pretty good. It was a digout day after the storm and the dig to clear the roads went smoother than most anyone thought it would. I went out this morning i think at about 8 00 and they were still covered. Now they look great. There were ton of plow trucks out there. I was surprised at the amount of trucks they had this time. The work for the clearing streets was done. Help us.
