Toward 680. People all over the world ushered in the new year with fireworks. Heres a look at the celebration. In mexico city, crowds gathered at the angel of independence. In belgium, fireworks lit up the night sky there. And indonesia, hundreds gathered around the fountain to watch the show. And in new yorkcity, hundreds of thousands braved cold temperatures and packed times times square to watch the iconic ball drop. Reporter by the time it hit midnight, temperature had fallen to a bonechilling 10 degrees in new york city. Security was tight around time square, of course. Times square, of course. And undercover officers and snipers monitored the hotels surrounding times square. With all the tops i see around here.
