This young man says service is in his dna. His mother is also was a police officer. It almost seems like it never crossed his mind not to follow in their footsteps. I said to him, considering what happened to your dad and uncle, dont you realize how dangerous this job is. He said, i do, but i also know i have to do this because its a part of my dna. We hear a lot of stories like that of young people whose parents, firefighters who died. He lost more than 343 firefighters on this day. Now children of those firefighters have become firefighters themselves. Theres such a tremendous sense of honor and gratitude for the sacrifice that the people made here. It is hard for people to go forward and go on without honoring that sacrifice, some of the children, begin doing what their loved one did for them and offering themselves
