plaza the scene of a deadly stabbing. we begin with that deadly playground shooting. thanks for joining us. i m shawn yancy. and i m laura evans. police are working on figuring out where a 5-year-old got a gun. reporter: authorities are still trying to figure out like you said how this 5-year-old got his hands on a handgun. they believe he found it inside his apartment. one witness told me it appeared to be a small handgun. it appeared to him to look like a .22 caliber pistol. neighbors can t believe it. a 5-year-old boy with a handgun. many can t help but think what could have happened if the 4- year-old was shot in the head or heart. it went right here and came out the back of his shoulder, shattered on his back. reporter: authorities say both kids were playing right here when the gun went off. the 4-year-old injured ran towards his mother in that apartment. the 5-year-old grabbed the gun and ran this way towards his apartment. yeah, we re friends. i m like his

delays of one, two, three hours or more. i was supposed to go out at 11:0. they canceled the flight and now i will go out at 4:55. and they rescheduled the airline from continue nen that to u.s. airways. reporter: about 15 flights were diverted to bwi for refuelling. some passengers got out there, others waited until they were cleared for the flight to reagan national. if they have us out for two hours, we have to go back and they have to make alternate plans. i guess the company has a policy they can t have us sit on the tarmac for more than two hours. predictably, there were problems with lost luggage. it took elizabeth o connor, a member of the u.s. air force a day and a half to fly here from philadelph philadelphia, but her bag didn t make it. i got bounced off one, then turned back around, came back to philly. the last one they tried to get us on, they said everything was canceled because of the fog and they made us stay in a hotel. did not pay or help us with
something serious. it s awful. in this day and age that s uncalled for. i don t think that s a training at all. reporter: they suspended the career firefighters and there is a strong possibility they could lose their jobs. they are professionals they should act as professionals. it s okay to prank but only small ones. reporter: two days after that incident another incident here at the fire house resulted in the partial evacuation of the fire house and another paid career firefighter at another fire station is under investigation criminal investigation and has been suspended. they are unrelated incidents. the details will come at 6:00. father who police say confessed to killing his wife and stuffing her in a suitcase made his first court appearance today. jamie coonny turned himself in on friday. reporter: police believe jamie coonny strangled his wife. although the official autopsy report hasn t come out yet. police have not released the victim s name yet because
