Reporter this is a very sad Christmas Morning for at least several families here in the bay area. We are in front of what has been the scene for hours here on 880 south near southland mall. That is the chp car that was hit from behind. There is debris everywhere on the freeway, on this offramp, across all lanes. Now, i want to just show you right across from this offramp here, thats the other car that was involved, this red car where you see the front left side smashed in, ending up across the freeway. The chp is being very tight lipped about this accident. They confirmed at least two chp officers were seriously injured as well as the driver of that red car. The accident happened around 11 45 p. M. , Christmas Eve, again, near 880 south near winton by the mall. Investigators arent giving specifics about the injuries or confirming if anyone has passed.
