in texas is saying while there is no physical evidence that links the murders of a district attorney and his former assistant who was murdered two months ago it would make sense based on all the circumstances in this case that the killings are linked. here is what he said. i m not a professional law enforcement person, but it would seem to me that this is not just a random act. it would seem to me that there has to be some connection, in my way of thinking, but i m not involved, again, in the investigation. but i do know, based on what i have been told, that they have found no physical evidence that links the murder of mr. and mrs. mcclellan with the murder of mark haase. that may not mean anything. but it s my understanding they found no evidence that links the two. but i mean just this has to
and as far as i know, no link has been found. but thank you for calling me, candy. but that s only obviously the conclusion i would come to. i m not a law enforcement person. but the man that was killed, mr. hasse, who was killed two months ago, that was in the city limits of kaufman. the district attorney and his wife live a few miles out of town, between kaufman and forney. it was in the unincorporated area of the county. so the sheriff is looking into that case. so you have two different jurisdictions, but essentially, you have the d.a. and his assistant d.a., both of whom are killed, within two months of each other. so, obviously, that s a link they re looking at. and what can you bring us up to date on the information that you do have between the two murders themselves? i don t know very many details. it was mr. mike mcclellan and his wife.
i agree we could have different spokes people. like who? let s get down to it. mike bloomberg, mayor of new york city. is there a level of antisemitism in this thing directed toward bloomberg. no doubt about it. it s out there. i don t think it s anti-semitism. i think the perception of big city, urban elites, wealthy elites, telling the rest of the little people how to live their lives. big city jewish man from another ethnic group in some parts i think would be different. i think at the end of the day if we had like a law enforcement person or former law enforcement person, or someone like that as the national face of it, it would make it easier in some of the areas or some of the states you re talking about. but i don t think bloomberg gabby giffords is participating and give a different experience. they examine at it a different
handgun, multiround clips, it s weaponry, most of these weapons shouldn t be on the streets of america. so i don t know exactly what the distinction is about. no citizen has ever said to me, oh, well, you know, i know got hit by a shotgun. i m glad it wasn t a rifle. mean. what? i don t know. let me go to the former police chief. val, thank you for joining us. as a law enforcement person, are you concerned about this rage that some people, statistics show it s not everybody but some people have to arm up and get not just shotguns or handguns to protect themselves with but they want semiautomatic weaponry and assault weapons in their household. we know guns are not the answer to every problem to safety. situations and real-life situations have demonstrated that. when we talk about the ban on assault weapons, i think people need to consider the assault weapons, the amount of devastation that ar-15s and ak-47s can do to the body you don t need one of those weapons to protect yourself.
