Weekend, its going to be really hot, and were leading in to that heat today. Here is a live look outside in palo alto starting out with some clear skies. Low 80s by early afternoon. Eventually were going to see a few inland east bay spots reaching the low 90s but mostly 80s there on the map for parts of the bay, the coast staying in the upper 60s. Well talk about some much hotter temperatures ahead and now mike youre tracking a new crash in san jose. Kari, right when were starting to see the volume build for highway 101 and the rest of the freeways of course but the slowing we typically see is 101 at capitol expressway. North of that on 87 the shift toward curtner a crash in the middle at guadalupe parkway. Hopefully that will quickly clear and well be able to recover. This is a critical time for the south bay. So weve had even this past Holiday Season between november 20th and the end of the year. Weve seen a significant decline in crime. And so we know this has nothing to do with that decision. Its really a larger business decision that macys has made. Macys says the closures are part of a shift in Business Strategy from large stores and malls to more boutique shops. Macys is the latest in the list of iconic union square in Downtown Retail stores to close, including nordstrom and the westfield mall. The mayor says the closure is disappointing, but shes hopeful for change. There are definitely possibilities here.
