A special meeting is set for Wednesday so the Las Lomitas Elementary School District governing board can once again vote to fill Brian Ross set after learning that state law prohibits outgoing trustees from voting for their successor.
With a special election estimated to cost between $365,000 and $438,000, the Las Lomitas Elementary school board is looking to appoint someone to fill a vacancy left by trustee Brian Ross instead.
Students and teachers in 12 classrooms have been moved to temporary quarters after Las Lomitas Elementary School suffered flood damage from the storms that have pummeled the Bay Area since Dec. 31.
