Fire department sees busy 2020

Green River Star -   February 3, 2021 The Green River Fire Department had a very busy year in 2020, not only with a record number of recorded incidents, but also with several outside elements that occurred. Former fire chief sentenced

Green River Star - Publisher The final chapter in the court case against former Green River Fire Department Chief Mike Nomis concluded Thursday after an argued sentencing hearing. Nomis plead guilty to felony theft and misdemeanor wrongful appropriation of public property during a change of plea hearing Sept. 8. He was sentenced to between three and seven years in the Wyoming Penitentiary for the felony charge, one year in jail to be served concurrently with the felony change for the misdemeanor count and ordered to pay $60,304.74 in restitution and finds by Third District Court Judge Suzannah Robinson during the argued sentencing hearing.

Fire investigation continues

Green River Star - December 9, 2020 Little information is available as to the cause of a fatal house fire over Thanksgiving weekend that claimed the life of a Green River resident as investigators continue to look at the remnants of the home.
