The foggy, rainy weather the Killeen - Fort Hood area saw on Sunday is expected to be the last such weather the area will see for at least the next few days.
Monique Sellers, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, said on Sunday that by today the rainy weather system, which originated on the West Coast, should have all moved out, having seen about of quarter of an inch of rain in accumulation.
âThereâs no more rain chances this week,â Sellers said.
Aside from a cold front expected to move through late Tuesday, the region is expected to see mostly typical temperatures for this time of year.
Starting Tuesday, the weekendâs sunny conditions around the Killeen area should give way to rainy ones.
âItâs going to rain through the whole week,â National Weather Service Meteorologist Monique Sellers said on Sunday.
Sellers said that a total of two to four inches of rain can be expected over a five-day period.
âIt will kind of add up during the week,â she said.
Sellers said that a weather system along the West Coast will send the rainy weather our way, and that a similar system is lining up to impact the area at the end of next week. Long term flooding, rather than localized flash flooding, is more likely to be an issue, though Sellers said conditions will be monitored.
