Kargil, January 04(KIP)- The 10-day ice hockey training organized by Nima Odzer Sorig Foundation supported by Zanskar Winter Sports Foundation concluded today at Sani village.
The organizer provided basic ice hockey training to 50 participants to carry out their skills in the field. Executive Councilor, RD, Tourism, and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil Er. Punchok Tashi appreciated the organizer for providing such a platform for children so that they can perform in the State/National level in near future.
The EC also appreciated the teams of Zanskar who participated in Shaheed Zulfiqar Cricket Tournament and LG Archery Cup.
He said the administration of LAHDC Kargil shall provide necessary financial assistance to boost the upcoming players.

Kargil, November 07(Scoop News)- Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today inaugurated Under 19, 17 and 14 boys, girls interschool Volleyball and Handball Tournament organized by District Youth Services and Sports Department at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium Biamathang, Kargil.
Executive Councilor Health Mohsin Ali, Zonal Physical Education Officers, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools, large number of students, participants from different schools were present during the inaugural session.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEC congratulated the DYSS Department Kargil for organizing such a sports event.
Khan advised students to take maximum benefit of the event to sharpen their sports skill adding that along with studies sportsmanship is equally important for students.
The CEC said LAHDC, Kargil along with the Union Territory Administration is committed to develop sports infrastructure in schools and at district level.

Kargil, August 13 (Scoop News)- A group of young artists hailing from different areas of Kargil under the guidance of Sajjad Hussain Bob today called upon Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan at Council Secretariat and presented creative gifts to him as part of Independence Day celebrations.
The group was headed by Sajjad Hussain Bob, a teacher and mentor at Government High School Thasgam, Drass. The group had been taking an active part in learning different kinds of extracurricular activities like painting, photography etc.
The CEC also interacted with the teacher and the artist group and appreciated their creative artwork presented in the form of gifts.

Kartgil, July 07 (Scoop News)- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today visited the flood affected village of Khandah-Badgam of Kargil block.
Councillor Chuli Skambu Constituency in LAHDC Kargil, Altaf Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil Ghulam Mohammad, Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Isa Ali, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Mohammad Hassan besides other concerned officers and village representatives accompanied the CEC during the tour.
The CEC interacted with the village representatives and visited the flood affected areas to asses the damage.
Khan was informed that due to the recent flashflood the major irrigation canal of the village has severely got damaged, resulting in the damage to agriculture lands, crops, water pipes, school infrastructure and various other major and minor damages.

Kargil, May 04 (Scoop News)- Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil and Councillor Yurbaltak Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan in presence of BDC Chairperson Sodh Zakir Hussain today inaugurated the newly established Barchay Colony near TV Station area in Kargil.
Religious scholars, prominent citizens and residents of Barchay village were present on the occasion. Speaking at the event, Councillor Yurbaltak Kacho Ahmad Khan and BDC Chairperson Zakir Hussain congratulated the residents of Barchay.
The residents projected demand for the provision of funds for drinking water, drainage system and other related civic amenities for the newly established colony.
Councillor Yurbaltak and BDC Chairperson Sodh assured the residents all possible assistance including the provision of funds for the establishment of civic facilities in the new colony.
