2022, reading scores saw their biggest drop since 1990. math scores plummeted during that period for the first time ever. these are some of the worst declines that the study has seen in its 50-year history. it could take a generation for some scores to rebound reports the wall street journal. the learning loss could weigh on economic output in this country in the years to come. pete hegseth and leo terrell are here. first, to david lee miller that shows us what s in the study. hi, lee. the nation s schools are getting a failing grade based on the test scores of 9-year-old students. let s start with math. the decrease was where s than nine points. so called lower performing students saw scores draw by 12 points. black and hispanics decreased more than white. when it comes to reading, the average test core dropped five points. some problem learners saw a decline by 10. reading scores by white, black and hispanic students were impacted equally by the pandemic. an education p
people raised up and reaching for more and wanting to do better will actually improve everyone s lives in our country. it s a way it s a wave. it brings everyone up. i think we need to concentrate on that. those other issues are important, but that s not going to be an important issue in the country s economy fails and things just go to heck. that s not going to be the most important thing. martha: let me go to kimberly and kyle. kimberly, in terms of president biden s visits to pennsylvania, do you support his presidency so far? do you feel good about it? i think that he inherited a really precarious situation. the covid and state of democracy, general anxiety about the state of the economy is something that he s trying to navigate. i appreciated he s appointed people that have policies and
positions that think about the greater good and seeking to shore up general public sentiment and the faith of democracy. democracy is not done yet. so in many ways i m satisfied. i think there s always things that could be approached differently for sure. i think by and large, people in this part of pennsylvania are happy with biden more or less. martha: kyle, really quickly. the semi fascist comment, how did that sit with you? i think when you get to extreme language like that, it s bad for everybody. it s not right. so at the end of the day, pennsylvania up here in the northwest corner, we re looking for fentanyl is killing a person a day a law enforcement person told me. one person is dying a day. there s others we can talk about. the last two years i don t think have been great. that has to be addressed. martha: i thank you. i hope all three of you will come back. i d love to hear about your
