3 finalists for Contra Costa College president

By Kathy Chouteau Contra Costa College is one step closer to having a new president. The Contra Costa Community College District recently announced three finalists for the position: Damon A. Bell, Ed.D., Tia Robinson-Cooper, Ed.D. and Tina Vasconcellos, Ph.D. The first candidate is Dr. Damon A. Bell, who is currently serving as the interim president for Contra Costa College. Aside from having nearly 30 years of higher education experience in the community college and California State University systems, he has also served as interim president at Ventura College and as vice president for student services at Olympic, San Bernardino Valley and San Diego Mesa colleges.

Alden promotes local nursing director to regional consultant Rockford Register Star ROCKFORD The AldenDebes Short-Term Rehabilitation and Health Care Center recently announced the promotion of registered nurse Cyeria Brown to regional nurse consultant. As a new graduate in 2014, Brown was hired as a staff nurse at Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Rockford. Due to her integrity and dedication to patient safety and clinical excellence, she was promoted to assistant director of Nursing in 2017, and in less than a year, was promoted to director of nursing. In her new role as regional nurse consultant, Brown will focus on regulatory compliance, clinical outcomes and the provision of care, programs and services and will identify opportunities to improve patient care and safety throughout her assigned region of post-acute and rehabilitation facilities. Lady Knights volleyball team wins districts, qualifies for nationals by: North Platte Community College - Apr. 5, 2021 Sports The North Platte Community College volleyball team defeated the North Dakota State College of Science in a best-of-three series to win the district championship and qualify for the national tournament. The series in Wahpeton, N.D. began on Friday and the Lady Knights won in five sets 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 20-25, 15-10. On Saturday morning, the Wildcats evened things up by sweeping NPCC 25-21, 25-18, 25-20, to force a deciding third match. In that match, the Knights won the first two sets 25-22, 25-23. NDSCS won the third set, 25-21. But NPCC won it in the fourth, 25-21.
