A dozen people including several local government officials attended a public meeting Wednesday to discuss more than $4.7 million in potential funding through various grant programs.
The list of potential revenue providers included the Small Cities Program (Community Development Block Grant), HOME Program, Ohio Housing Trust Fund, Appalachian Regional Commission, U.S. Economic Development Administration and other related sources. This is an information meeting regarding what funds are available in Cambridge and Guernsey County, said Economic & Community Development Executive Director Kim Haught during the meet at Cambridge City Park. City department heads gathered at the Cambridge City Council meeting on Monday to present their year end reports as part of the State of the City Address.
Among all the reports were several common threads; each echoed the sentiment of what a year 2020 had been, perseverance and how they worked together to get through the year.

Cambridge Fire Department Chief Jeff Deeks began by telling the council members and audience that 2020 was challenging not just for his department but for everyone. I believe that sometimes we are tested , not to show our weaknesses, but to discover our strengths, Deeks said. 2020 has tested all of us, every person, every business, but I will tell you that this department and your firefighters did not back down.
