We expect that the medical examiner will release the name of the shooter sometime later today. Again, if you will not hear anyone from this Law Enforcement operation use his name. I continue to believe that those media and Community Members who publicize his name will only glor faechl his horrific glorify his horrific actions. It happened during the first week of classes. The students include a number of military veterans and several are called heros for leading their fellow students to safety when they heard gunfire. Students in the classroom next door to the shooting say their teacher went to see what had happened. She knocks on it and said hey, is everyone okay in there . And as soon as she said that it was rapid fire over and over and over again. You could hear the people, you u could hear them moving and crying. After those 4 or 5 shots, we realized it was gunfire and everybody bolted. The tight knit community of roseburg held a candlelight vigil mourning the victims. Theyre notif
Us. Lets talk about some of that lightning that was active in the overnight hours. I want to give you a look at what is going on out there this morning. Starting out with storm tracker. This is actually a 12hour time lapse for you here. Notice when the activity rolls through in the overnight hours and moved through the east bay and continued in this direction. Some areas like napa reported. 2 of an inch of rain. The areas around concord, clayton, and fairfield. Getting rain here as well and just this band that rolled through. It was between midnight and 2 in the morning when that lightning fired off. I will remove the radar. You can see a fairly active move through the overnight hours and this system now, moving south over Southern California and backing it up to show you a threehour time lapse. Surveillance videotape stabbed the cashier. Investigators say the suspect had a 48inch flat screen tv and boots and was on his way out of the store. When confronted by the cashier, he presented an old 10 receipt. The cashier told him the receipt wasnt authentic. At that point, this male threatened the cashier. The male said im going to kill you, and then he pulled out a folding knife and lunged it toward the chest of the cashier. The cashier blocked that lunge of the knife with his right arm and was stabbed in the right arm. Reporter the suspect fled with the flat screen but not before a customer in the parking lot attempted to block his cart with his car with a shopping cart. The suspect then drove away in a lightcolored hatchback toyota prius. Now, we spoke to police about incidents like this occurring just weeks before the holiday season.
