The CBI has challenged a decision of the Congress government to withdraw consent for the agency to probe assets of D K Shivakumar and an order of the state to refer the matter to the Karnataka Lokayukta for investigation.
The state Cabinet in November withdrew the sanction to the CBI to investigate the case. The matter is due to come up before the Karnataka High Court on Friday.
The plea filed by the BJP MLA contends that the unexpected move to revoke the consent granted for the CBI probe was an attempt to disrupt the ongoing judicial proceedings in both HC and trial court. | Latest News India
