Our CorrespondentKohima, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s College (AASJC), Jakhama, will celebrate its silver jubilee on November 18 on the theme “Igniting oneness.” Briefing media persons on Saturday, the association president, I Yanger Imchen, informed that the 25th anniversary would be organised to honour its pioneers which was formed on November 8, 1997. Kiviboto Sheqi, convenor of the jubilee planning committee, has invited all the past students to the celebration. He informed that a formal programme has been scheduled in the morning at the college indoor stadiumm while a basketball match would be played between the alumni basketball team and the present college team. Meyisul Thaprii, advisor of the alumni association, informed that they would be represented by the 2003 college team, which represented the college in the Nagaland University basket tournament in the match against the present college team. CYF cautions on child trafficking Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Following report of child trafficking and kidnapping being circulated on social media, the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has appealed to all its bonafide members and subordinate units to remain aware and exercise cautionary measures to ensure the safety especially of children. The CYF advised all like-minded citizens to be vigilant of any suspicious individuals or groups loitering in their localities and to report such cases to the law enforcement authorities and administrative departments without delay. The IAS Association, Nagaland in its recent general body meeting had also deliberated on the way forward to improve the public service delivery mechanism. Every Citizen is entitled to hassle-free public services and redresses of his/her grievances. Several associations especially the eligible candidates fight for equal opportunity as they were mostly deprived of their rights to sit for open competition as advertisements were rarely seen. In Nagaland it is very disheartening to learn from these aggrieved candidates that many of them didn’t get a chance to participate in open competition just because of the fact that the departments don’t requisite the vacant post to Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and many of these posts were occupied through backdoor appointment. Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): As the people looked up to legal fraternity with respect for dispensing justice, former MLA and chairman of Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Board (NKVID), Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, encouraged the law students to be more realistic and practical in life to take the society forward. Dr. Keditsu stated this during the 43rd fresher’s meet of Kohima Law College on September 23 held at the Red Cross conference hall in Kohima on the theme “Venturing proficiency into legal fraternity.” Dr. Keditsu, who was the guest speaker, termed the law students as most fortunate as their study would lead them to an independent profession compared to the present scenario of unemployment problems in the state, an update from the college stated. “This is one profession one has to be honest, hard working and having integrity as the profession is termed as a noble profession. Starting from you and me let us face the reality and not just expecting everything from government and
