Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 28 (EMN): Hundreds of Kohima denizens participated in the Fit India Freedom Run/Walk 3.0 organised by the Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) on Friday. Chief Executive Officer of Kohima Smart City, K Theunuo said the main purpose of the event was to encourage physical fitness and help citizens get rid of obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety and diseases. The third edition of the Fit India Freedom Run was held across the country to promote fitness. Theunuo urged the people to spend at least 30 to 60 minutes daily for physical activities, celebrate a healthy lifestyle and remain fit. He emphasised on the need to give time for exercise and urged the people to make fitness an integral part of life. General Manager (Planning) of KSCDL, Kezhochole Rhetso, pointed out that it is the responsibility of the citizens to press upon the authorities to provide amenities and the city authority should provide a platform for citizens to walk and run. Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): The Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) and the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with World Resources Institute, India (WRI, India) on June 7 to work on scaling up safe, accessible, green, playful and inclusive neighbourhoods for young children and families across the city. An update on Monday stated that in January 2022, Kohima was announced as one of the 10 winners of the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge (NNC) hosted by the Smart Cities Mission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with the Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) and with WRI India as the technical partner. “The challenge aims to support city agencies and their partners to adopt an early childhood development focus in the design, planning, and management of cities. By mainstreaming this lens in projects and long-term plans, cities will target improvements to public spaces, mobility, neighbourhood planning, access to serv
