MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â The 2019-20 season was one for the history books for the Mankato West gymnastics team.
The program started by breaking school records throughout the regular season on their way to being named Section 2A champions, and eventually finished the year with a fourth-place finish at the state tournament.
Now, as the team settles into its 2021 campaign, the focus is to build on last seasonâs accolades.

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) As Minnesota rolls out its COVID-19 vaccine pilot program, inoculations are on the minds of many.
Now we’re learning more about who’s up next to get the shot.
All anyone is talking about is how and when members of the public can start getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
The State of Minnesota controls the distribution of the shot after receiving it from the federal government. Right now, demand is high and supply is low.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â In Cade Borchardtâs debut season with the Minnesota State Mavericks, the Burnsville native registered four shots on goal and blocked two shots.
Now, in his sophomore season, he leads the team with 5 goals and 8 assists.
Borchardtâs production through nine games isnât one many predicted ahead of the season.
âI wish I could tell you that I knew it was going to happen,â Head Coach Mike Hastings said. âYou hope for freshmen to take a step as a sophomore. What Iâve seen is, thereâs a lot of times when you have a freshman that goes out and has a really good freshman season, has the proverbial tendency to potentially have a sophomore slump. MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â Itâs a question thatâs been on the minds of many employees since the rollout of the COVID vaccine: can my workplace require me to get vaccinated?
âThe Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which is the administrative agency that would control the answer to that question initially, came out and gave some guidance that employers do have a right to require vaccines among employees,â said Julia Ketcham Corbett, an attorney at Blethen Berens.
