(KEYC) — In Cade Borchardt’s debut season with the Minnesota State Mavericks, the Burnsville native registered four shots on goal and blocked two shots. Now, in his sophomore season, he leads the team with 5 goals and 8 assists. Borchardt’s production through nine games isn’t one many predicted ahead of the season. “I wish I could tell you that I knew it was going to happen,” Head Coach Mike Hastings said. “You hope for freshmen to take a step as a sophomore.
