Rockstar Games has announced it is expanding to the music industry today. The developer best known for the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead games has revealed it is partnering with the party and dance music brand to form the music record label CircoLoco Records. This record label will be focusing on dance music with the first EP not far away at all. The EP, called Monday Dreamin’ Blue, will be available on June 4th.

Rockstar Games Teams with CircoLoco for New Record Label
Anybody who has ever played a Rockstar game knows just how important the music is to the experience, particularly with their Grand Theft Auto series. The past few Grand Theft Auto games especially featured an expertly-curated soundtrack boasting a lineup of artists both known and unknown that seemingly perfectly captured the vibe of the world when the game was released, simultaneously turning many gamers on to fantastic bands and artists.
So while any other video game publisher/developer announcing their intention to start a record label might seem out of place, Rockstar’s announcement today almost feels long overdue.
Rockstar Games Just Started a Record Label
Monday Dreamin , beginning June 4th with
Monday Dreamin Blue. The first EP will include tracks from Sama Abdulhadi, Kerri Chandler, Rampa, Seth Troxler, and a new Dixon remix of Deichkind’s Autonom.
CircoLoco Records will continue to release new EPs on a weekly basis until the
Monday Dreamin compilation drops in full on July 9th and Lumartes by Seth Troxler from the first EP is available right now. While the full details of exactly what songs will be included on future EPs has not yet been released, it was announced that they will also include new music from DJ Moodymann, Carl Craig, Luciano, Lost Souls of Saturn & TOKiMONSTA, Red Axes, and more.
