Kerala reports over 35K new Covid cases on 2nd day of lockdown
Kerala is among the worst Covid hit states in India which is reporting more than 4 lakh new cases since last four days

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala saw another 35,801 people test Covid-19 positive on Sunday, while 29,318 people were cured and the number of active cases stood at 4,23,514.
The test positivity rate was 28.88 per cent. Another 68 people succumbed, taking the total death toll to 5,814. Covid hotspots in Kerala
Ten places were declared as new hotspots and two removed from the list.
A total of 10,94,055 people are under observation, as on Sunday, with 10,62,625 people are under home/institutional quarantine and 31,430 people admitted in hospitals.

New Delhi: In a bid to ease the financial burden on people owing to difficulties arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday (May 5) ordered that there will be no collection of pending bill arrears by the electricity board for two months.
He also asked the banks to stop all recovery proceedings as the people were going through a tough time.
“Banks should stop all recovery proceedings considering the pandemic situation people are going through. Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and Kerala Water Authority (KWA) have been asked to stop collect pending bill arrears for two months,” Vijayan was quoted as saying by ANI.
