Kenya’s Ambassador to the US Lazarus Amayo has called on Kenyans in the diaspora to invest back home.
Amayo urged Kenyans living and working abroad to take advantage of the prevailing investment climate in Kenya and invest in various sectors brought about by devolution, the Big Four Agenda, as well as Kenya Vision 2030.
He was speaking during a meeting with Kenyans living in Seattle, Washington where he outlined the services offered by the embassy, the government diaspora policies, and ways of collaboration in advancing Kenya’s interest abroad.
A Kenyan woman has shared details on how a Mzungu inspired her to move back to Kenya after living abroad for 14 years.
Through a Facebook post on Friday, Trizear Nguti says she used to talk ill things about Kenya until a white man opened her eyes to see the good side of her motherland.
“I spent a total of 14 years in diaspora and the person who made me relocate to Kenya is a white man. He asked me why I was in Europe and as the norm I ripped Kenya apart saying all the negative I could, blaming the Government etc,” she wrote.
Kenyan woman Dorothy Bosibori Ong’era, who died in the US a year ago, has finally been accorded a decent send-off.
Her remains were reburied at a cemetery in Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale City, Texas in a ceremony attended by her father David Ong’era, some of her siblings, and friends.
"I thank God that we finally interred her remains. It has been a long journey, but it's partly over," said Mr. Ong'era during the interment ceremony.
African Heritage House founder Alan Donovan has passed away aged 83.
Donovan, an American national, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Athi River, Machakos County on Sunday morning, according to African Heritage Estate management.
The deceased designed and built the iconic African Heritage House which overlooks the Nairobi National Park.
The Ministry of Health says travelers arriving in Kenya must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The visitors, including Kenyans abroad, will be required to produce a COVID-19 vaccination certificate upon arrival in the country.
The directive which takes effect on December 21st applies to passengers aged 18 years and above.
“Those who are abroad including foreigners if they want to come to our country, they must be vaccinated for them to gain entry,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said.
