Kenyan woman Dorothy Bosibori Ong’era, who died in the US a year ago, has finally been accorded a decent send-off.
Her remains were reburied at a cemetery in Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale City, Texas in a ceremony attended by her father David Ong’era, some of her siblings, and friends.
"I thank God that we finally interred her remains. It has been a long journey, but it's partly over," said Mr. Ong'era during the interment ceremony.
After months of twists and turns on the feud over the death and âsecret burialâ of a Kenyan woman in Dallas, Texas in December, her body has been exhumed following a court order.
Dorothy Bosibori Ongera, 35, was buried by her partner in the US on December 28 after she accidentally drowned at home.
On Friday, a US court in Tarrant County, Texas issued the order following a petition filed by her father David Ongera.
At the time, Ms Bosibori, a mother of six, was living with Obadiah Kinara, with whom she had three children.
Last month, the father narrated to a US court his anguish on how his daughterâs remains were secretly sneaked from a morgue and buried at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in the US without their permission.

A Kenyan man yesterday narrated to a US court his anguish after his daughter, who allegedly drowned in a bathtub in her house, was secretly buried by her partner.
The court heard that Dorothy Bosibori Ong’era’s remains were secretly sneaked from a morgue and buried at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in the United States without her parents or children after she died on December 16, 2020.
In the case that streamed worldwide via YouTube and Facebook, David Ong’era asked for orders to exhume the body for an independent autopsy to establish the cause of his daughter’s death.
