Firefighters were called to a Construction Equipment rental building overnight, after neighbors reported hearing explosions. Crews said the explosions were reported around 1 30 this morning at Sunbelt Rentals on pearman dairy road in anderson county. Two fire stations responded and had the fire out in about 30 minutes. No one was in the building at the time, and no injuries were reported. A teenager has died following a shootout in asheville. Police were called to an apartment complex around 1 00 yesterday in response to shots fired. Witnesses said the 17yearold was hit by gunfire in the shootout. He died this morning at the hospital. Police are continuing to interview witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call buncombe county crime stoppers. This started about 1 00 this morning and route now we see several residents and Business Owners watching obviously very upset to see this building burn down. It started inside of sals deli and this is is just across the street from hartley park. It traveled to apartments behind the deli and quickly spread and now to the cleaners which you can see right now consumed by the flames as firefighters work to try to get a handle on this this morning. Spring Ridge Middle School in Saint Marys County is closed today. In the day ahead, d. C. Police chief will speak with neighbors in the hill east neighborhood. Thats the area east of capitol hill. People living there have dealt with home invasion, rape, several street robberies and a murder in the last two weeks. Tonights meeting begins at 7 00 at friendship chamberlain Charter School in southeast. Not far from the hill east neighborhood, police say they arrested several people responsible for a series of robberies. Last week there were six robberies in an hour in the navy yard and capitol hill areas. Police say small groups of three to five people are committing multiple robberies a night. The chief says robberies are one of the Biggest Challenges the district is facing right now. She went on to say police made arrests in two major cases in the last four days.
