Our CorrespondentKohima, June 11 (EMN): Nagaland Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), Y Kikheto Sema, inaugurated a new Sumi cemetery in Kohima at Keyake (BSF Camp) Colony on Saturday. Mentioning that Nagas and the Christians alike give importance to graveyards, Kikheto Sema stated that the state’s former chief minister, KL Chishi and family, donated the land to Kohima Sumi Hoho (KSH) to fulfill the burning desire of the people. He has acknowledged the magnanimity of the P Khel of the Kohima village for allowing them to set up the cemetery within their jurisdiction. He further commended the leadership of KSH president, Khevito T Shohe, and his team for making the project a success. Delivering the presidential address, Khevito T Shohe informed that the newly constructed cemetery has 165 chambers and added that over INR 1 crore was used for its construction. Pfuchatsumia Khel (P-Khel) council, Kohima village has selected a new team of office bearers headed by Kelhousetuo Rutsa as chairman. In a press release, selection committee convenor, Zeneituo Rutsa, informed that the new team for the tenure 2022-2025 was announced during the 68th P-Khel day cum annual meeting held at its indoor stadium.
