the hospital, one with serious injuries. you see the video as firefighters carry one of the passengers away. stacey cohan is live at the scene at lay phone plaza. reporter: you can imagine what it was like following the rally. hundreds of thousands were in the city and everybody leaving at the same time. there was a crush of people. this escalator is one of those very steep escalators that descend into the underground station. take a look at the video, you can see the people being transported. we are hearing at some point the escalator began to jerk. they don t know what caused that. there are a variety of reasons including safety sensors that actually exist near the floorboards of the escalators that are designed to trigger if there is too much pressure applied. so, was it a safety censor, malfunction? we don t know exactly what went wrong. at the entrance it s steep and long. i m not sure if it was a malfunction or surge of the crowd or what that circumstance that lead
