Muzaffar Hussain Baig’s impeding return to PDP on Sunday has the party divided, with some still resentful of his stance against Article 370 and actions in 2019
While some in the party see Baig’s return as a strategic move on the PDP’s part to put up a united front, others remain critical of him for having opposed Article 370 in 2020. Baig, an advocate, had later defended J&K’s special status in the Supreme Court.
The top court says Article 370 was temporary and the state of J&K does not retain an element of sovereignty. It also orders J&K’s statehood to be restored as soon as possible.
