BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Contractors’ Association has alleged that the notorious 40% commission racket under the previous BJP govt in the state .
A contractors' body which had alleged that they had to pay 40% commission to get contracts for public projects under the Basavaraj Bommai-led BJP government has levelled the same allegation at the Congress government which came to power last year.
The Income Tax Department has alleged that the contractors were involved in tax evasion and money laundering. The department has seized incriminating documents and digital evidence during the raids.
Reacting to the serious allegations of corruption by Karnataka contractors, CM Basavaraj Bommai said that there is no ground for such allegations and encouraged submitting a complaint to the Lokayukta.
