WHITMORE LAKE, MI (WTVB) – Top-ranked and defending state champion Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central was just to much for Bronson on Tuesday night as they defeated the Vikings three games to nothing by scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 in the MHSAA Division Three Girls Volleyball Quarterfinals.
The state volleyball tournament resumed on Tuesday night following a two month pause of high school sports in the State of Michigan in an effort to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The first game was tied 13-13 before Monroe St. Mary closed out the game with a 10-2 run.

BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Four members of the Bronson girls volleyball team have been named to Division Three All-State teams by the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association.
Senior Meagan Lasky was named to the first team after she earlier earned Individual Academic All-State honors from the M.I.V.C.A.. Lasky was a second-team All-State selection in 2019 and was on the third team in 2018.
In addition, Skye Woodman was named to the second team, Karissa Gest earned third team honors and Jaydn Cary earned an honorable mention.
The Vikings won 2020 district and regional titles before the M.H.S.A.A. girls volleyball tournament was suspended by State of Michigan guidelines to stop the surge of COVID-19 cases.
