Retired Air Force Maj. administers oath of office for daughter Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Ty Dimeff says he’s typically not an emotional guy.  But the Monroe High School graduate admits he was struggling to speak Saturday as he administered the U.S. Armed Forces’ Officer Oath of Office to his daughter, newly-promoted Air Force Capt. Kelsy Dimeff, in a private ceremony held at Veteran’s Park in the City of Monroe.  Kelsy took the oath as part of her promotion to the rank of Captain, which she’s earned due to her graduation from Michigan State University’s College of Medicine. The 2012 St. Mary Catholic Central graduate attended MSU’s medical college on a scholarship from the Air Force. She’ll now head to Travis Air Force Base in California to complete a one-year internship in General Surgery before serving a four-year residency in diagnostic radiology at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C .
