Saudi FM visits Pakistan [ Last Update: Wednesday, 28 July 2021 1:12 AM ] Kamran Yousaf Press TV, Islamabad The Saudi Foreign Minister has visited Pakistan as part of efforts to ease apparent tensions between the two countries. Islamabad and Riyadh have longstanding ties but in recent years the two countries struggle to overcome differences on certain regional and strategic issues. This is the first visit by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan since 2019 to Pakistan. The top Saudi diplomat visited Islamabad at a time when the region is undergoing transformation. Against this backdrop the Saudi Foreign Minister held talks with his Pakistani counterpart. After the talks, the two sides presented a positive picture of their relationship.

SCREENGRAB ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Friday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was ousted through a “judicial coup” after political destabilisation was created in the country in 2017-18. The PML-N stalwart claimed that the political destabilisation was the reason of economic collapse, which forced the Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf (PTI) government to go for International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal in its first year.

Police called to reports of man unconscious behind wheel of Audi

Samuel Thornber gave a reading of 109 against the legal limit of 35 POLICE responded to a “concern for safety” situation after a man was reported apparently unconscious behind the wheel of a car. Blackburn magistrates heard when police arrived, Samuel Thornber was sitting in the driver’s seat of his Audi Q5 with the engine running. The officers had to bang on the window and shine a torch in his face before Thornber was eventually roused. Thornber, 29, of Pendle Street East, Sabden, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was made subject to a curfew from 8pm to 6am for eight weeks, banned from driving for 26 months and ordered to pay £85 costs. Thornber gave a reading of 109 against the legal limit of 35.
