REPORTER: TAYLER ALEXANDRA LIVES NEARBY AND HEARD GUNSHOTS TUESDAY NIGHT NEAR THE HOME ON ALGONQUIN PARKWAY. SHE SAYS SHE NEVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED WHAT POLICE SAY HAPPENED AT THIS HOME. THE GUY ACROSS THE STREET TOLD MY BOYFRIEND, I SAW HER CARRYING A BODY TO THE CAR. REPORTER: ACCORDING TO AN ARREST REPORT, A NEIGHBOR CALLED POLICE TO REPORT A WOMAN WITH A GUN ON THE PORCH, AND SAYS HE SAW THE BOY WRAPPED IN A BLANKET. WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED TUESDAY NIGHT, THEY FOUND BLOOD ON THE PORCH. THAT’S WHEN THEY OPENED THE TRUNK OF A CAR AND DISCOVERED THE BOY’S BODY. Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers arrested and charged 28-year-old Kaitlyn Higgins with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence Tuesday.
An arrest citation says that police discovered the 10-year-old dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside the trunk of a car after a caller observed Higgins carrying the body with a gun in hand.
