Police received a call on Tuesday (April 20) night from a person who claimed they saw a woman who was armed with a gun and what they believed was a dead body wrapped in a blanket. When officers arrived, they found Kaitlyn Higgins, 28, sitting on the front porch and noticed what appeared to be blood and the front steps leading to her house. When the officers searched the trunk of her car, they found the body of her son. She was taken into custody and admitted that she shot him to death after trying to cut out his tongue. Officials did not say what caused Higgins to kill the young boy.
