Reporter trapped on the second floor, several people in 109 washington avenue in little ferry were saved by firefighters and police around 11 30 last night when the building caught fire. Driving down the road, and as i was passing this house, i heard a big pop. It was some type of explosion. Not sure if it came from the garage or the cars parked in the driveway, then the whole house was engulfed in flames. Reporter lieutenant chris bowles says when he he could see was black smoke engulfing the building an he ran to help. Just started trying to break some windows and victims just start jumping out windows and pulled several people out of the building. Reporter you can see dozens of neighbors standing in panic as victims are taken away on stretchers. The lieutenant says fathers were dropping children down to him from the second floor window. Got a ladder to the second floor, and we were able to pull control by arn 1 30 this morning, but water is still flowing to the big to keep it cool.
