so today s new conference there in egypt is raising so many more questions. i want to bring in our panel now, joining me from new york is jonathan gillian, and mary schiavo as well. egyptian officials saying it s too soon to declare that this was a bomb, despite your opinion, investigators implying that there was some sort of bomb or explosion on-board. and the question of this noise at the end of that recording. still needs more investigation, according to to the official than we just heard from. so mary, does this fill in some blanks for you or does this simply open up more questions in your view? well, there was some important takeaways from the press conference, and yes, they re right to center in on this noise because deciphering the noise and the akousic fingerprints if you will of such a noise has been a task that investigators have faced in tw 800, the plane that exploded off
had a lot of trouble in his life. there was a lot of animosity towards organized religion, an mossity towards african-americans. he had some sort of fascination with the irish republican army. when investigators look at all his writings, they will see somebody who is mentally disturbed and they will talk with all the people he knew and his relatives. we know that more than 100 investigators are working the case. we are going to dive deeper into this. this massacre in oregon, raising questions on how do you know when somebody is out to lose it, to take up a gun and simply start shooting? joining me from our new york bureau, jonathan gillian and kron olgiscriminal nolgist, cas jordan. we are not sure how he got these
ryan young there where the funeral was. joining us, arthur roderick and jonathan gillian. jonathan, officials told us last week they collected this significant evidence. they wouldn t tell us what it was. it s 72 hours after that. we don t have any new developments. you have been involved in numerous investigations like this. to your best knowledge, what s going on here? i think they re following the protocol that law enforcement normally follows, which is keep everything as quiet as possible while this thing unfolds for a couple reasons. so they don t givoe out secrets. the other is so they have a rock-hard prosecution. that s all well thought out and shown through history that that s the way law enforcement should work, there should be a shift now where they re using the public more just by explaining more to the public, i think. arthur, i want to ask you that. i have talked to people in law
