cnn s bora sanchez is at the foot of the brooklyn bridge and former special agent jonathan gillian joins us with es. how is security being handled when so many crowd the maul there? reporter: that s right, so many crowds fred. hundreds of thousands are expected down here on the national mall but this sort of major security presence isn t necessarily ned for washington but authorities do tell us they are taking the threats coming from the intelligence officials ver ver. we here s what he had to saw. sorry about that. we don t have that sound
when you re in penn station, what kind of things do you do? right now i was going to look for something to eat and go see a movie. also ahead, homeless people taking over in the city. and water is right in the middle of it. it s a good place to come if you re hungry. caution, you re about to enter the no-spin zone the factor begins right now. hi i m bill o reilly. thank you for watching us tonight. the supreme court rules. that is the subject of this evening s talking points memo. the court s acceptance of the gay marriage was predicted. and in fact we accurately told what would happen next week. the supreme court is made up of a variety of americans, some say it is a country that needs to be changed. others believe it is a settled nation where established law should be up held. chief justice john roberts provides an example. he believes that congress should make the laws not judges. that was the intent of the founders. it s in writing. so roberts jumped through l
november this year when they go to check their cabin and realize someone was in it someone messed it up. it could turn out to be one or both of them. so there s a lot of answers that are still to be had and it will take a long time to get them. i want to bring in jonathan gillian. to tom s point, if there are cabins broken into before is it possible that maybe sweat or even matt previously might have injured somebody in a cabin, that you might have a victim somewhere in this communicate that they might have hurt people along the way? or is that something that police and law enforcement have just ruled out? no i don t think they ve ruled that out. in fact, i think it would be really wise of people that are hearing this broadcast to have loved ones up in that area that maybe live in some of the remote cabins to reach out to them and see if they can get in touch with them. i think that would be a wise thing for local law enforcement to look into as well. that s a great question.
from the very beginning, i ve been saying that people need to be in contact. again, these were murderers. we know they were in one cabin. the likelihood of them going to other cabins is pretty high. if anybody was in there, it s so remote that they could have easily killed somebody and nobody would even know it. jonathan, is there a formal process for law enforcement to do that to actually have a log of a neighborhood and have people check in. say, you know what, we have scoured the neighborhood and we know for sure that all of these people in this community are safe and accounted for? hopefully as i ve been saying all along, the command post in this situation is very very important. and the way that things are catalogued and cleared is utmost important in how this thing moves smoothly and quickly. and now you ll see that it s going to be an even bigger issue because of this question that you ve asked. did they catalogue all these different houses and cabins as
they re up to no good or trying to get from point a to b really fast. they called law enforcement down there. what hurt these guys in the long run is they made a bad relationship and it didn t pay off. had they continued to move though, and not gone to this cabin, i think we d be having a completely different conversation. because my one critique i do have for law enforcement is that i don t think they had the rapid quick reaction force set up the proper way. our hostage rescue team from the fbi has the ability to fast rope in on site on target. they didn t use that. i don t know why they didn t use these things. i know homeland department of security had these things too. the national guard could have set up a real perimeter. it would have made a difference and got to this point quicker. jonathan gillian, we ll continue to follow the developments in the man hunt for
