defective democrats essentially. because it is apparently the case that house leaders expect to lose as many as a half dozen votes from moderate democrats representing swing districts. or those that backed president trump in 2016. what happens when those moderate democrats come in especially after they have had time to sleep on it? this could backfire on nadler, could it not? it s going to backfire on the entire democrat house right now because when you have these moderate democrats from swing districts, they are caught between a rock and a hard place. if they vote for impeachment it will hurt their chances in the general election. if they vote against impeachment, it is going to suppress their turnout. not going to have the same enthusiasm as they had in 2018. hard core base voters will support a primary opponent or not show up to the polls because they don t believe in what their congressman or woman is doing. i don t see how any of them come out winners in this. julie: great to

the last few months, affected the way he s going to approach this? i think he is going to approach this as unpersonally as possible. i think it s the president who wants to make this look like it s a person score that s being settled, that this is all given driven by partisan politics and i think it s incumbent on nadler if he wants to have any hope of persuading more americans that impeachment is legitimate to keep the personality stuff out of this. but donald trump is going to continue to talk about how nadler has been at him for years, and he s going to continue to portray this whole thing as a sham no matter what happens. so regardless of the actual roles and opportunities republicans have to participate, donald trump believes that anything run by the house democrats is a sham. they re bought into that argument and not going to legitimize the house proceedings by participating. the president has tweeted he s waiting this will be on our turf soon meaning the senate.
