Police say that a lone gunman angry about recent Police Shootings of black men opened fire on officers as they guarded a peaceful demonstration against ine killings in minnesota and iluisiana earlier this week. During an hourslong standoff, k. E gunman told police he was targeting white officers. 12 officers were shot. Five were killed. Seven were wounded. Cell phone video captured the moment that an officer ran toward the gunmen and engaged them in a firefight. Seconds later, the officer was hit, and the gunman fled. We learned today the gunman taunted police during two hours of negotiations before authorities killed him with a robot bomb. The killer said he was targeting police in revenge for the Fatal Police Shootings of two black men in minnesota and louisiana last week. Those deaths lead to tense protests and dozens of arrests in st. Paul and baton rouge last night. We begin in dallas with manuel bojorquez. Im assuming the drama begins as soon as they take the gavel but can the drama begin with this president and what are the chances anything gets done . What are the key issues . I think, mika, the likelihood anything will get done of substance in the lame duck session will be small. The president will do what the president will do. I know well talk later about the special counsel and the drama there. I think right now you got a situation where the president has in the course of his two years in office accomplished almost nothing on the legislative front. So i dont see any great urgency.
