Really inexcusable, especially for an elected official. Thats the message Republican Assembly member billa say lee hopes to sent to fellow lawmakers with his proposal. Hr 51 should go into effect. Any member of the assembly who is arrested and charged with dui will lose the privilege to operate whats known as a pool vehicle. A government perk provided to lawmakers to help them easily get from place to place in sacramento. Most people dont even know we get a taxpayer. Funded car. Its a state vehicle. The state pays the tax. The state pays the gas for the car. They take care of it. And i think thats a privilege. And so when you violate that privilege and you violate the trust of the public. You shouldnt be driving your car. So its a very simple measure. The rule would apply to lawmakers until their cases result.
